Jay Macfarlane: (6) - decent enough display, might have done tad better for 1st 2 goals but wasn’t afforded the protection he normally is and couldn’t do too much, came off line couple of times to good effect.
Billy Bristow: (7) MOM - solid at the back even though doubled up on and given no protection, showed the desire and attitude needed from everyone.
Mugsy: (6) - another decent display from dance-off wannabe. Gave his all as usual and added energy and drive when switched to midfield in the 2nd half.
Lee Commander: (5) - Up against a tough skillful opponent and carrying an injury. A tough day for the veteran with legs made of treacle.
Lee Tirrell: (5) - A rare poor display from the skipper. tried not to give up but missed headers and tackles and it just wouldn’t happen for the tight-shorted one today.
Steven Fleming: (5) – Couldn’t replicate his form from last week. Up against willing runners in midfield and couldn’t really get close enough to pressure them. Improved at fullback in the 2nd half and kept going. Sure to be the target for the home fans again next week.
Michael Pearce: (5) – Like his midfield partner was up against decent midfielders with lots of running and again couldn’t really get close enough to pressure them and ended up a bit overrrun. MOM award from opposition could put him on the bench next week!
Sean Wainwright: (5) – The enigma must learn to get more involved but also needs to realise that he doesn’t have to try and beat 3 men every time and can play it simple. Can cause problems when on song but that’s not often enough. Has the potential but needs to put it all together and quickly. Could also give more protection to his full back. Quiet day.
David Heeley: (5) – Not one of his better days. Couldn’t get going in the 1st half when things and his touch wouldn’t fall right for him but improved in the 2nd and caused more problems.
Jason Heeley: (5) – Not a great day for the man known as 3 bites. Didn’t get much service admittedly and therefore no real chances but looked a very frustrated man throughout. Could possibly defend from the front more in times such as this.
Jeff Macfarlane: (5) – Not the best from the statue. Tried holding it up but must learn when to play the ball quick and when to hold on to it. Like his strike partner, got frustrated and seemed intent on arguing with the referee. No chances of note for him either.
