I couldn't make it on Thursday and texted Jeff beforehand. For me personally though i dont think training is a good idea.
Parbold have never been a team that trains well, numbers continue to be poor, people get frustrated and morale sinks. Every session always ends up being a piss take with foulin footy etc.
For me if we have enough bodies willing to sign on, then scrap training and wait for the friendly's, because everyone will turn up for them.
Sorry if people disagree with me, but thats my opinion.

couldnt have put it better myself bristow...we are all old enough and wise enough to prepare ourselves and get fit over the summer.our training sessions have never been upto much and like ive said to a couple of the lads, its a waste of time cos we never get the numbers.its also far too early to start training, the season has only been over about 3-4 weeks
my thinking is 4 or 5 firendlies before the season starts will stand us in good stead for the formidable challenge that lays ahead
i cant believe i am on here at 9pm on a saturday night

Now then chaps
I might aswell add my thoughts on the training fiasco....
Bill - No need to apolgise at all mate. Thats your opinion and obviously you are entitled to it. I think most of us agree with what you've said. I suppose the only bit where I might differ is that I sometimes think....if you always do the same things (ie. train sh*te), then you will always get the same results.
For as long as I can remember, Parbold have always (even in the recent glory days) started the season slowly & half baked. I don't believe its coincidence that we dont train, have pathetic friendlies (mostly) and then turn up for the 1st game and start slow. Then after a few games getting rid of the rust and playing together we tend to pick up because we're then in the swing of things. It would be nice for once to get off to a strong start.
I take yours and the ghosts points though. It is a bit early for training and we have never been the best at it. Whilst i think the odd bit of training and a different approach to it would help us on the fitness & match front (and most us need all the help we can get), its just one of those things.
It is really up to people to get a grip on their own fitness levels before the season starts. I won't be going to training for the foreseeable so thats what I'll be trying to do. I will see you all in a month or two
Just my thoughts. Laters
