Following the proffesional 'smash and grab' by Academy Sports this morning, here are the ratings for a pretty lacklustre Parbold.
1. Jay McFarlane (6). Totally faultless today and did actually make a great save in the build up to the opening goal.
2. Danny Murray (6). Totally committed as always, but conceded a silly free kick with lead the the second and decisive goal.
3. Alex Heffron (8). Man of the match. Looked confident and didn't hide at all. Defended well and got forward when he could. The only bright note on a dissapointing day.
4. Lee Commander (7). Defended bravely when needed although didn't see all that much action.
5. Lee Tirrell (7). Kept his composure at testing times and won every tackle he made.
6. Mark McNally (4). Last years Manager's player of the year has struggled all this campaign. Bagged a start in his prefered midfield role and was hugely dissapointing. (withdrawn)
7. Adam Ashcroft (5). Although he played in a different poistion, Adam should be capable of delivering more. Missed the best two chances in a tight opening half. (withdrawn)
8. Johnny Sheppherd (7). His eagerness and energy levels put his team mates to shame, but lacked a little finese when desperatley needed. Still unable to do it all on his own.
9. Jason Heeley (5). It just didn't happen today for the new father, and the longer the game went on the more anonymous he became. He cut a frustrated figure up front. (withdrawn)
10. Wayne Law (5). Had to deal with the fact of being man marked and struggled to deal with this. Shown some glimpses of his talent, but had to admit his opponent suprisingly had the better of him.
11. David Heeley (6). His work rate and never say die attitude are very commendable, but in games like this he simply tries too hard, and ends up with defeating himself.
12. Mike Pearce (6). Accepted his benching with dignity and played out the final 15 minutess in a midfield/forward role.
14. Jeff McFarlane (6). Came on for the final 10 minutes and put himself about.
15. Paul MacKenzie (6). The now overweight veteran strolled out for the last 7 minutes and was totally inept.
