2005/2006 Champions

It is 5 years since that balmly night in April 2006, possibly the greatest night in the clubs history.

I would like to organise, if their is sufficient interest, a reunion of the mighty squad/booze up.

A Saturday night in town towards the end of JUne or early July, is just a suggestion.

So if the word could be spread around the squad and see if anybody fancies it and arrangements can be ironed out It would be good to get all the squad of that year to attend and remince.

Tommy Goode, as official cherries WAG/groupie is also invited.

It's great to know that all these years later Pearce is still shirking respsonsibility onto others, the same on and off the pitch.

And Tizzy, I feel a certain responsibility for your getting into shape. Had I not provided such blanket protection for all those years, you would have improved your fitness a long time ago so as not to be embarrased.

I'm in by the way, as is the older Mackenzie who has recently overtaken me in the 'glass knees' competition and now seems certain to lose both legs from the hip down. Never again will anyone see that yound salmon leap millimetres into the air, or amble down the touchline in search of possession.

I propose Saturday 9th July for the Champions Reunion.

Is everyone OK with this? It gives everybody plenty of time to square it with wives/girlfriend/boyfriends.

Prob usual arrangements for a PFC nightout meet in a pub in Maghull/Kirkby about 5/6ish then onto into town.

Bets will then be taken of first to get drunk and go home.

Can the word be spread??

It would be great if every member of that truly amazing squad to be there including the players who havent been seen in or around the cherries, such as the Nellies, The phleghmos, the nobles, the Duffys (peter), the jonahs of this world. Dont forget Lupton.

Rimmer....I should really be thanking you. If it wasn't for all the feckin running I had to do to cover your lazy arse (box to box midfielder?? don't me laugh!), my fitness would have caved in years ago!! I'm only thank ful that you being under the thumb stopped you from playing more games!

As it is, here I am carrying on well into my 30s.....it obviously helps that my knees aren't made of the finest delicate china!

As for Gus' glass kness....am I the only one who is sorry that they will never ever be able to see Gus line up at left back and get absolutely roatsed by a "reasonably-paced" winger or head a back pass into his own net whilst saying "ah fuck"??!! Those were most certainly "the days"!! ;D
