The Cherry badge upon my chest
We are men of Luptons best
A team that plays the Parbold way
And wins the championship in May
The league hinged against Birchy
The moaning c*nt was niggly
The fans shout out every verse
As the boys spank Wiganers
(Chorus)
Then the boys played Golborne
The biggest game of them all
With Jay Heeley watching the line
Got Furlong's pass which was sublime
(Chorus)
And as Heeley sprinted through
Another goal from him was due
It's the moment we never forget
As the ball rippled the net
(Chorus)
The second half was a bit tight
The Cherries fire did reignite
Pearce and Jay they worked it through
And Stu Furlong he made it two!
(Chorus)
As he ran towards the line
The Cherries fans were going wild
And there he was, number 1 fan
And that mans name is mighty Stan
(Chorus)
The game was going to the wire
The Cherries eyes were filled with fire
And Michael Pearce the ball he met
And his shot it burst the net!
(Chorus)
As we walk down Alder Lane
All the fans sing players names
The songs are sung with joy and glee
At Golborne 1 AND PARBOLD 3
(Chorus)
And in goal we've got Big Jay
All the shots he's in the way
And the crosses he does meet
Every week there's a clean sheet
(Chorus)
Peter Dodd's a keeper too
Spewed on himself on his debut
The occasion got to him
He slapped Birchy on the chin
(Chorus)
At right back is Steve Flemming
All the fans, his name they sing
Every game you hear his call
"Get out the way, it's Flemmo's ball"
(Chorus)
The other side is Chris Norris
Important tackles he does not miss
When the ball is in the air
The back of his head is always there
(Chorus)
At the back is Neil Hardman
Gets stuck in like a battering ram
Spent much time in our great nation
In hospital under observation
(Chorus)
Completing the back line is Skipper Lee
Led the Cherries to glory
All his tackles are fair and hard
Ref Terry showed him red card
(Chorus)
And Pauly Jones plays everywhere
Where there's a tackle he's always there
A Parbold stalwart he's a star
He can be found propping the bar
(Chorus)
The right wing is Pete Duffy's
He's the one with clean knees
With each tackle comes the invite
Peter Duffy then takes flight
(Chorus)
On the left is Pauly Mac
Close control he's got the knack
Parbold FC is his life
Unless told otherwise by the wife
(Chorus)
Then in the centre's Lee Commander
He runs up and down, he's everywhere
His energy we cannot fathom
And he leaps like a salmon
(Chorus)
Partnering him is Stu Furlong
His through balls go seldom wrong
And his goals though not a lot
Rocket in, oh what a shot
(Chorus)
And joining them is that man Gus
Turns on the ball like the 20 bus
Ball at his feet he's wizardry
Takes one on, then two, then three
(Chorus)
Up the top is Michael Pearce
Worries defences he is so fierce
Goal after goal proves he's the man
Then celebrates with old man Stan
(Chorus)
Another striker is big Jeff Mc
He is important to our attack
Scoring goals he does do
a.k.a The Statue
(Chorus)
Completing the trio is Jay Heeley
His worth to the team is plain to see
Socring goals at a whim
Took the record off Gary Quinn
(Chorus)
Bill Bristow's seen it all
Been at the club since '94
Played in goal with curly hair
Now tracksuit coach and head is bare
(Chorus)
The man in charge is George Lupton
Wears a stetson and plazzy gun
He came close against Sasib
NOW HE'S HOPING FOR THE LEAGUE!!!
We are men of Luptons best
