Parbold Football club have released their squad numbers for the forthcoming 2006/07 season. They are as follows;
1. JAMIE MCFARLANE
2. DAVID NOBLE
3. PAUL JONES
4. LEE TYRELL (Captain)
5. NEIL HARDMAN
6. PAUL MACKENZIE
7. PETER DUUFY (vice captain)
8. LEE COMMANDER
9. JASON HEELEY
10. MICHAEL PEARCE
11. STEWART FURLONG
12. STEVEN FLEMING
13. PETER DODD
14. JEFF MCFARLANE
15. DAVID MULVILLE
16. N/A
17. BILLY BRISTOW
18. DAVID HEELEY
19. CHRIS NORRIS
The biggest shock is that Ian Mackenzie has lost his number 15 shirt to Mulville with Mackenzie yet to be allocated a sqaud number. Parbold have made it clear they are willing to listen to any offers on the veteran midfielder, but so far the interest has remained limited. Bottom side Belle Green seemed to be the only interested party, but couldn't offer him first team football. Ian could stay at the club on a pay-as-you-play deal, and would be allocated shirt number 20.
The club remains loyal to Dave Noble as he keeps his number 2 jersey over regular right back and Parboldfc.co.uk player of the season, Steven Fleming. Michael Pearce who was also strongly tipped for a move away in the summer has had his loyalty rewarded with the prestige number 10. Michael has just released his autobiography "Michael Pearce - portrait of a genius" and has praised manager Lupton for saving him from his womanising and sleazy past.
Dave Mulville is also back in favour despite a rather inept debut season. Lupton read Muliville the riot act at the tail end of last season, and demanded he loose several pounds in weight. Mulville has worked hard through the summer and has returned a better and slimmer player.
Fans favourite Bristow stays at number 17, this being the clubs shops best selling shirt, followed in second place by 14. Jeff McFarlane.
Despite lacking popularity on the terraces, Paul MacKenzie has been told he is on his final warning, but holds onto the number 6 jersey.
