I have a question to put to you and am quite curious into what responses (if any) i shall get.
Do you think that Parbold FC collectivley as a squad have now peaked and our glory days have gone, or can we put last seasons blip behind us and get back to challanging for the title ?
I believe that we will improve on last season but realistically will finish as a mid table side. After that last couple of impressive seasons we began last season with the expectations (and correctly so) of finishing in the top 2 or 3. I think that it will benefit us next season by not having that burden.
I know that honestly last season as individuals we under-performed and it hurts and some players more than others are keen to put that right and will have major points to prove. This i believe will also boost the team.
I do also think it is an issue not an excuse that our age is a factor. In nearly every game the average age of our starting XI must be considerably higher than other teams. When we lost to Golbourne our youngest player was Ste Fleming at 24. I would be suprised if Golbourne even had player who was that old !
Next season for me is rumoured to be the last for few due to impending retirement, but i truely think that we will get back into winning ways more often but will still loose our fair share, but most importantly it will be a better laugh than last seasons miserable campaign.

I agree with Statto, I think that - unfortunately - we may have peaked. However, I do think that we will be better next season (lets face it we couldn't be any worse!) I think there is a determination throughout the squad to make sure we give a more realistic account of ourselves and, therefore, we will win more games.
However, I do feel that fitness played a part last season and that we prob have one of the oldest average ages in the whole of the league. This means we have to use our heads a bit more and may lead to us losing a few as well.
I for one tho, can't wait for the season to start again!
Roll on the pathetic pre-season friendlies with no goal posts and Tizzer marking George Lupton up front!!!

I have at least ten years left at the top level of English football. Fitness nor age is an issue for me. I believe your only as good as your strikers and as I was in left midfield and Pearce was re-invented in the David Weir role there lies Parbolds problems last season......

last season we were too complacent after 2 good seasons,we were given a wake up call that was badly needed.Saying that, look at the top half of the table and tell me we didn't deserve to beat Woodhouse away,we beat 2nd place aspull away and hammered mabs cross 3-0.This proves we have the quality but we have to do it every week.I honestly think we will be top three next season as long as we get a full team out. I am already training and can't wait for new season, bring it on
