First of all i must say that its a sad day for Parbold Football Club, as Paul MacKenzie, the clubs third longest serving player has retired.
Injuries have blighted his 12 year stint at Alder Lane, and denied him a realistic chance of being Parbold's greatest ever player. I hope by the way that you will continue to come and support us whenever possible.
In November 1997 away at Ince United, he scored possibly the most spectacular goal witnessed by Cherry fans. His 5th minute solo run and 30 yard effort is still fondly remembered. The only player in the clubs history to score a goal in a cup final. He even claimed a cleen sheet on his solitary appearance as a goalkeeper.
