Before I start this, let me say I'm in no way apologising as a result of the pressure from users of this forum. An apology was always going to come, the delay was due to me searching for the correct way to do so.
Obviously, I am sorry to players, coaches and fans of Parbold for my no show last weekend. There is no excuse for it, and I wouldn't insult anyone by offering the reasons behind it.
That said, I would say to the Parbold fans who have asked questions over my commitment to the club to remember that, along with Peter Duffy, I am second only to Billy Bristow as Parbold's longest serving player. I was responsible, along with the two men I have mentioned, for the influx of players back in 1997 which led Parbold to the First Division. I was solely responsible for getting Parbold going again after they folded only 3 years ago. During that first year back in the league, I was not only club secretary, but also the treasurer and I marked the pitch whenever it was needed.
So before people start to call for my head, I would suggest that they look at the facts above. Don't take this as a rant against the fans, it is not meant that way at all. I just wanted to point out that I have done much in Parbold's history which shines. I don't believe one game missed should over shadow this.
